today, yesterday and for as long as you can remember
you've walked your everyday journey
across the path that has been paved with nails and glass
blood and pain you leave behind
because everyday leaves a trail of where you have been
forced to endure because ends are not allowed.
you no longer look at the faces of strangers
who walk this path just like you, that do the same as you
the pain in their faces... the pain in the bodies
is too much to understand. the scars on your knees remind you
not to fall and not to break down again
your thoughts of why is this happening has subsided
after the each step.
focusing on your pain gets you nowhere,
when there is an eternity of steps before you.
just close your eyes again...
keep your head tucked down...
